An Buinneán Buí, sung by Joe Heaney (Seosamh Ó hÉanaí, 1919-1984), the great sean nós singer from Carna. This recording was made October, 1980 by Mary Johnson at an unknown location and is from “Say a Song”, a compilation made by and used courtesy of Northwest Folklife and the University of Washington.
Cill Chais, a well-known Irish folk-poem which recounts the fall of a great Irish family near Tipperary in the 18th century, is read by Catherine Pryce and was recorded in Clifden, Galway, June 2007. It is collected in An Duanaire 1600-1900, Poems of the Dispossessed, edited and translated by Seán Ó Tuama and Thomas Kinsella, and published by Foras na Gaelige, 1981.
